How does my account work?
  • You include all the household bills you wish us to pay on your behalf.
  • You make the agreed weekly or monthly payments into your account and when these bills fall due, we pay them for you.
  • With regular monthly bills such as mortgages, loan repayments etc and utility bills, you don’t have to give us the bills; they are paid automatically by us for you.
  • There are some bills we must receive such as car and house insurances but most bills are paid automatically by us.
  • We automatically revise and update your account each time there is an increase in your bills and your payments are automatically updated.
  • You can access your account on-line 24/7 to view all your transactions, view the bills included in your plan and instruct us of any changes you wish to make.
  • We carry out a full account review and provide you with a detailed statement annually.

What exactly does Home Payments do?
We provide a household budgeting and bill paying service. Firstly we provide you with your own personal household budget financial plan by listing and analysing your household bills. Your financial plan shows you exactly how much your bills cost you each year and where you stand with your present and future bills. We even out the cost of your bills into one equal weekly or monthly payment. You pay this equal amount into your account weekly or monthly and as your bills fall due, we pay them for you.
By analysing your bills we aim to save you money. We also save you time and hassle as you do not have to pay your bills yourself anymore. You make one payment to us and we do the rest. By having a plan we keep you on track, putting you in control of your finances and future planning. We constantly review your plan and as your bills increase or decrease we adjust your plan accordingly.
Why not enjoy Freedom from your Bills so you can spend your time doing whatever is more important to you !

Why should I plan?
Here are twelve good reasons:

  1. A Plan lets you control your money instead of your money controlling you.
  2. A Plan will tell you if you're living within your means. Before the widespread use of credit cards, you could tell if you were living within your means because you had money left over after paying all your bills. The use of credit cards has made this much less obvious. Many people don't realise they're living far beyond their means until they're knee deep in debt.
  3. A Plan is a guide which keeps you on track. Can you imagine the government or a major corporation operating without a budget plan? No, and neither should you.
  4. A Plan can help you meet your savings goals. It includes a mechanism for setting aside money for savings and investments.
  5. Following a realistic Plan frees up spare cash so you can use your money on the things that really matter to you instead of frittering it away on things you don't even remember buying.
  6. A Plan helps your entire family focus on common goals.
  7. A Plan helps you prepare for emergencies or large or unanticipated expenses that might otherwise cause you financial difficulties.
  8. A Plan can improve your relationship. A good Plan is not just a spending plan; it's a communication tool. Done right, a Plan can bring the two of you closer together as you identify and work towards common goals and reduce arguments about money. That's got to be good for your sex life!
  9. A Plan reveals areas where you're spending too much money so you can refocus on your most important goals.
  10. A Plan can keep you out of debt or help you get out of debt.
  11. A Plan actually creates extra money for you to use on things that matter to you.
  12. A Plan helps you sleep better at night because you don't lie awake worrying about how you're going to make ends meet.

But I already pay all my bills by direct debit, why do I need Home Payments?
Most people have pretty much the same income every month. Wouldn’t life be easier if you had the same outgoings every month? With Home Payments it is. One, agreed, fixed, equal weekly or monthly payment is debited from your bank account to cover all your bills. You then know exactly how much you can spend on other expenses such as shopping, leisure, savings and investments with the peace of mind that your bills are provided for.

You can avoid overdraft interest which can occur when large bills are debited to your bank account or a number of bills are debited at the same time. Reconciling is very easy, with our on-line transaction statement, a job that most people dislike and tend not to do at all.

You have only one payment to track, the payment to Home Payments. Our financial plan puts you in control as you know exactly where you stand with your bills and always have the money as they fall due.  You can make informed financial decisions on spending, saving or investing with up to date, accurate information.
